On behalf of Holcombe Hockey Club and the Committee I would like to share our appreciation and recognition of Harriet Pittard following her recent departure from the club.
Harriet was a passionate and loyal member of the club for over 13 seasons, dedicating the past four seasons to the role of Women’s 1s captain.
A true leader and inspiration on and off the pitch, Harriet led the team through its ups and downs, but most recently Harriet picked the team up after relegation in the 2022/23 season, inspiring the team to bounce straight back up into the Women’s Premier Division after a very successful 2023/24 season, a season which also saw the team promoted into the Super 6s Premier Division.
Harriet was a proud player who truly represented the values of the Holcombe badge everytime she stepped on to the pitch, we are all therefore very sad to see her leave the club, and will miss her on and off the pitch at Holcombe, but wish her all the best in her future pursuits.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome and thank Robyn Hodges for stepping up and taking on the role of Women’s 1 captain. Harriet has left a strong legacy for Robyn to shape the captaincy role in her way, and we know she will do a fantastic job, as she has already demonstrated a positive and supportive influence on the team in the past few weeks as captain.
