England Hockey and Holcombe Hockey Club can confirm that Holcombe has taken the decision to withdraw from its licence to deliver the Talent Academy programme. This was a proactive decision taken by Holcombe HC following careful consideration, and it has been received with England Hockey’s full understanding and respect.
Holcombe HC will continue to support the current assessment and selection process during the agreed transitional period. Alongside this, England Hockey is working closely with Holcombe HC and other local clubs to develop appropriate arrangements for the continued delivery of Talent Academy provision within the catchment area, with the shared aim of minimising disruption for players, parents, coaches and other stakeholders.
Further information regarding the future arrangements will be communicated directly to affected players, parents and other stakeholders once those arrangements have been finalised.
England Hockey thanks everyone at Holcombe for the time and commitment they have contributed to the Talent Academy programme over the past four years. Both England Hockey and Holcombe remain committed to supporting a constructive and player-focused transition and look forward to continuing to work together in the future.
