Holcombe Hockey Club are delighted to confirm the signing of New Zealand international Olivia Shannon as Nick Bandurak seals his third summer signing.
Bandurak’s side are preparing for their first season back in the Premier Division after winning promotion from Division One South last season.
Shannon, 22, has played 79 times for the Black Sticks including at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 World Cup and 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
She currently plays for Bay Independent Club in Hawkes Bay alongside recent addition Kaitlin Cotter.
On signing, Shannon said: “I’m really looking forward to moving to England, being part of Holcombe and experiencing a new environment and meeting new people.”
Head Coach Bandurak added: “Having competed at the very top of the game, Olivia will be an invaluable member of the squad and I’m hugely excited to welcome her to Holcombe ahead of the new season.
“Her quality and experience all over the pitch will be a massive asset to this group and I’m really looking forward to working with her.”
Welcome to the club, Olivia!
